Professional knife and blade sharpening for kitchens, chefs, and home cooks. Hand-finished to a razor edge — collected from your door or dropped at ours.
From the kitchen workhorse to the heirloom carver, each blade is matched to its ideal sharpening method.
Paring knives, utility knives, and short kitchen blades. Quick to sharpen but precise work — small knives are used close to fingers, so the edge has to be exactly right.
The classic chef's knife — the workhorse of any kitchen. Most blades fall in this bracket. Hand-finished on whetstones to a true working edge that holds.
Slicers, carving knives, and large chef knives. Long edges demand consistent pressure and angle from heel to tip — slower work, but no shortcuts.
Bread knives and any serrated edge. Every groove gets sharpened individually with a tapered ceramic rod — exacting, time-intensive work, which is why it costs more.
Every job gets the full treatment — no upsells, no surprise add-ons. Just transparent about what's on the table and what isn't.

I'm Joseph — the one behind Acron. Sharpening has been in my family for as long as anyone can remember; I learned the basics watching it done at the kitchen table long before I ever stood at a stone myself. Years of practice later, it's the work I keep coming back to.
Acron is a one-person operation, run out of Kettering. Every blade that comes in is sharpened by hand — no production line, no shortcuts, no machines pretending to know what an edge wants. I take my time, I get it right, and I'll tell you honestly if a knife is or isn't worth the cost of bringing back.
If you're trusting me with something that matters — a tool you use every day, or something with a bit of history — I'll treat it like it deserves to be treated.
Available days are highlighted on the calendar. Pick a day, then a time within the window I'm running collections or drop-offs.

Honestly didn't expect much when I dropped off our old kitchen set — they'd been hacked at with a steel for years. Came back actually scary sharp. Took the tip off a tomato I forgot I was holding. Worth every penny.
I run a small catering setup from home so my knives take a battering. Booked the collection, he turned up exactly when he said he would, knives back the next morning. Fair price too — cheaper than driving them somewhere myself.
Brought him my grandad's old carving knife. The handle's a bit knackered but the blade meant a lot. He talked me through what he was going to do before taking it, sent a photo of the edge afterwards. Genuinely nice bloke and the knife is sharper than it's probably ever been.
